The Reach One Child Foundation (R.O.C.) has announced their 2013 School Tour which will begin in May. This year the tour, titled “Eagles & Doves Tour”, will focus on basic and primary schools. The aim of the “Eagles & Doves Tour” is to motivate and mentor young students. With the support of multi-media and audio – visual aids the R.O.C. team plans to engage young students in conversations about their future goals and the value of dreaming bigger than their, sometimes poor and volatile, environment. The R.O.C. team will also focus on the importance of education to secure a better future as well as having respect for self and others.
According to Cherine, co-founder of The Reach One Child Foundation, “Over the last six years we’ve supported teachers and administrators through their Career Day and Girls Days activities in Primary Schools, but this year we want to continue this partnership through our R.O.C. Motivation and Mentorship initiative and the team is excited about working this year with the Primary schools but also extending to basic and pre-schools”.
Some of the schools to be visited are located in dis-enfranchised and deep rural communities.
